So what's the rest of the story? What did the girl say after she found out that mom gained access to her computer? Did she "flip her sh*t"?
Unless momma 'spilled the beans' the stealth information extraction should have been performed w/o a trace. It didn't prevent her from changing the login password the second she regained access to the PC though.
